For A Black Girl.
Inspired by the addendum phrase that every woman of color grows accustomed to hearing. It is the constant reminder that immediately attaches their achievements and experiences to race, which is completely invalidating and offensive.
Additionally, reaffirming the historically flawed idea that there is something wrong with their blackness, and perpetuating the notion that there is only one generalized black female experience. Black women are so much more than their stereotypes.
We are okay with being complimented and praised - as long as it’s not for a black girl.
